PR Pointers for January

Fight the January sales slump

We may be experiencing a holiday hangover, but now's the time to step on the gas with your communications and media outreach! Many businesses face a slump in January as customers reset their budgets and goals, which is a great time to keep them engaged with bounceback offers, loyalty incentives and other relationship-building programs.

The media loves a timely story. Can you align your expertise or products with something the media is already discussing?

Newsworthy trends this month:

  • New years resolutions (self-improvement, wellness, fitness, financial literacy)

  • Dry January

  • College Football Playoffs

  • MLK Day

  • Inauguration Day

Don't forget to start looking ahead to February, as well! World Cancer Day is Sunday, February 4th, and Valentines Day will be here before we know it! [Note from Aviatra: We are especially fond of Galentine's Day, which is February 13.] We recommend starting those promotions by at least January 27th - or even earlier if you have a ticketed event!

Cheers to a great year ahead!
